Why your eVisa may still show "pending"
Normal immigration backlog
High-volume periods—December–January holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), April reunification holidays, and summer peak—stretch review queues. "Pending" often means your file is in line, not lost.
Document quality hold
Blurry passport scans, non-compliant photos, or mismatched portrait vs bio page can push your file into manual review. Check email for a resubmission request before assuming silence means approval is coming.
Payment not fully captured
Sometimes the form submits but payment fails or times out. Verify your bank statement for a successful charge. Without confirmed payment, the application may never enter the review queue.
Email typo on the application
Approval emails go to the address typed on the form. A single wrong character sends your PDF elsewhere while you wait on the correct inbox. Search every folder and confirm the email address on your receipt.
Security or eligibility screening

What to do when pending exceeds 5 days
Step 1: Audit your inbox and portal
- Search: your reference number, "eVisa," "immigration," "Vietnam"
- Check spam, promotions, and "Updates" tabs (Gmail)
- Log into any status-check tool with exact surname spelling from your passport
Step 2: Verify payment
- Confirm charge on card or bank statement
- Match amount to your selected tier on /fees
- Save receipt screenshot for support
Step 3: Contact support—do not duplicate yet

- Reference number
- Full name as on passport
- Application date and tier selected
- Travel date and flight number
- Screenshots of portal status

- You are within your tier window on business days
- Payment confirmed and email address correct
- No document resubmission request outstanding
- No duplicate application filed elsewhere
If all above are true, daily status refresh is enough—escalate when the tier window passes.
When to re-apply (only with guidance)
Re-application may be appropriate when:
- Support confirms the original filing is void or unrecoverable
- Rejection email received with no correction path
