You can apply for a Vietnam eVisa online before you fly—no embassy visit for most tourists and short business trips. The process is straightforward when your passport data, photo, and travel plan are aligned from the start. This 2026 walkthrough covers preparation, each form step, and what to do after you pay.
We are a private visa assistance service—not the Government of Vietnam. You may also file through official government channels at lower cost; we disclose government vs service fees clearly on every page.
Made a Mistake? If you accidentally typed the wrong name, date of birth, or forgot your middle name, stop! Read our Wrong Name on eVisa Fix Guide before you arrive at the airport.
Before you start: document checklist
Gather everything in one folder on your phone or laptop:
| Item | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Passport bio-page scan | Officers verify identity against the machine-readable zone (MRZ) |
| Digital portrait photo | Must meet size, background, and face-forward rules |
| Travel dates & entry port | Must match your real flight or border crossing |
| Email you check daily | Approval and correction requests are sent electronically |
| Payment card | Pays mandatory government fee plus any optional service fee |
Confirm nationality rules on /check-requirement. Flying within 72 hours? Read /faq/24-hour-vietnam-evisa before you pay.
Step 1 — Verify eligibility and visa type
Choose tourism or business honestly. Select single vs multiple entry for a 90-day eVisa based on your real itinerary—not the cheapest option. Government fees are $55 (single) or $80 (multiple); see /fees.
- Single entry: one arrival period; leaving Vietnam and returning usually needs a new visa unless you hold multiple entry.
- Multiple entry: for side trips to Cambodia, Thailand, or Laos and return within the validity window.
Unsure which option fits? Compare totals on /fees and the deep dive in /faq/vietnam-evisa-requirements.
Step 2 — Enter personal details exactly as on the passport
Type your name exactly as printed, including middle names or patronymics. Match:
- Passport number (keep leading zeros)
- Date of birth in the order shown on the passport (often DD/MM/YYYY)
- Nationality of the passport you will carry at the border
- Sex as coded on the bio page
Use the passport you will present at immigration, not an old or cancelled booklet. Dual citizens should apply with the passport they will use to enter Vietnam.
Step 3 — Upload passport scan and portrait photo
Bio-page scan: colour, flat, all four corners visible, no fingers, no flash hotspots on the MRZ lines.
Portrait photo: plain light background, face forward, eyes open, no sunglasses or non-religious headwear, no beauty filters.
If uploads fail, resize without blurring text. See our photo requirements guide for rejection fixes.
Step 4 — Travel information and entry port
Enter intended arrival date, border or airport, and accommodation if requested. Your first international landing in Vietnam should match an approved eVisa entry location.
- Air: select the airport where your international flight lands (SGN, HAN, DAD, etc.).
- Land: confirm the specific border gate is authorized for eVisa—not every crossing qualifies.
- Cruise: align with the operator’s embarkation plan—see /faq/cruise-passenger-visa-vietnam.
Step 5 — Review every field, then pay
Read each line aloud against your passport photo page before payment. After you pay, edits may require support or a new filing.
You will typically see:
- Government fee — $55 (single entry) or $80 (multiple entry) for standard 90-day tourist/business products on this site.
- Service fee — $59.99 per passenger for assisted review, validation, and support.
- Optional Urgent (3 days) / Super Urgent (1 day) — +$110 or +$220 per passenger if you choose faster processing at apply.
Step 6 — Track status and download approval
Processing commonly ranges from within 5 business days, depending on volume and application quality. Watch email (and spam) for approval. Save a PDF and print one copy for airlines and immigration.
Do not book non-refundable hotels until you hold the approved PDF—see processing time guide.
Using our guided application
The /apply flow adds field validation, clear fee disclosure, and support if documents need correction. You remain responsible for accurate data; we help you submit a complete package.

After you land
